animals

my kids

tell me that I’m better at animals than people.

These are mostly done in response to odd requests or challenges.

three toed

sloth, waiter, roller skates.

His name is Willow.

an elegant

I can’t remember whether the pun was deliberate or an effect of the spellchecker on WhatsApp.

Anyway, one thing led to another as it so often does.

bunny

on a throne reading a book (obviously)

horse on a bike

again a challenge but this time from someone on instagram I hadn’t previously heard of – Marta Altes

She was good enough to “like” it and comment on it which I thought was kind of her.

giant anteater

unusually without any further brief . . .

the extraction

of toad juice for a magic spell in my first Inktober .

No animals were harmed in the making of this epic.

and fish

too.

It’s a dog eat dog world out there in the briny blue.

this camel

was done for one of Ania’s blog posts entitled Camel Beauty

"these existential conflicts

invariably ended with the aliens vanquishing the poor humans. The latter rendered helpless by giggles and slimy ears.”

a wino-scerors

for my dear chum Jim Lewis

this was

a daughter challenge. He’s called Prof. Squeakistein apparently.

And he’s inventing a humantrap.

i blame

Rudyard Kipling for my late development as a cat lover

although they do

eat stuff they find in dustbins.

Illustrations from one of my poems.

dinos

always seem to get a “cool” tag in everyone’s mind.

This sketch all came together very fast and happily

crocs

fall in love too, you know.

except

the nasty kind – no-one loves them!

another reptile

– this one is a running lizard.

He was actually part of a bigger picture – but then isn’t everything?

. . . my
missus

on a morning run.

The lizard wasn’t invited on the run – in fact he was trying to leave the party.

dancing

in the rain

or

bungee-jumping!

I can't remember

who asked me to draw a horse in a hammock.
Does it matter?

flies dancing

to the sound of a trumpeting elephant.

Apparently the word “trumpeting” is ambiguous when applied to elephants.

duolingo

deliberately gives us silly phrases to help us to remember them.

In this case,

“duży pies słucha małego mężczyzny”

my daughter

told me that stegosaurus’ plates would change colour when they get excited.

I have no idea how “they” know that!

not

the “Silver Surfer” but more of a “Silverback Skateboarder”

whereas

this is a surfer parrot dude  – and more multicoloured.

Also singing “Coo coo ca choo” as suggested by an instragram colleague.

duolingo again

with

“nasza ryba nosi koszulę”

and this

is an animated avocado

footnote to mobile site . . . This note appears in a sidebar on computers and tablets . . .
